Hi everybody. Today is the 25th anniversary of the Northridge earthquake, a 6.7 Southern California tremblor that caused over 70 fatalities and $25 billion in damages.
Here’s a video if you would like to relive that terrible day:
What are the chances of another 6.7 earthquake? Here’s an article where scientists say there’s a 97% chance in Southern California over the next 30 years.
Remember, standard homeowners and business property insurance does not cover earthquake. For more information about earthquake insurance visit my previous post.
And as always, feel free to call me if you would like to discuss earthquake insurance options.
I usually close by saying “make it a great day”, but considering what happened 25 years ago, I’m thinking every day we don’t have an earthquake is a pretty good one.
